I've been playing the piano since I was 10 years old, and I'm now 51.
I learned to play in the classical style, and although at age 10 I was
naturally able to improvise, pick out melodies and memorise music,
this habit was 'trained' out of me, and it was insisted upon that I
only play from music, and it had to be note-for-note perfect. I
continued in this way right through to taking my piano performance
diploma at the age of 26. When I was a child, I used to 'sneakily'
get my hands on sheet music of chart songs, and only played them when
I was alone in the house. I really just wanted to play like Elton
John.

By the time I took my diploma, all natural musicality had left me. I
was only able to reproduce scales, arpeggios and classical music, and
my ability to memorise had completely gone. Of course, at the time
that you take a diploma, memorising is a REQUIRED element of the
examination, so I had a much bigger mountain to climb when it came to
that - and I often made mistakes because I just couldn't hold all

Your website and the technology behind it are simply incredible. Bright and vibrant...as visually interesting as sonically interesting. Ha... I tried the "Accent Notes" exercise and I think my brain had a permanent snapping sound in it following my many attempts. Always meant to send this message and it worked out t! hat tonight was the night. I'll look further into your products but needed first to give a standing ovation to the vision, technology and delivery of your web content. I have to imagine your lessons are similar. BRAVO!

The audio and video in the lessons are quite good. a strength is the amount of music theory found within each lesson. I am going back and looking at some of the earlier lessons and am impressed with the scope start to finish.

Are there going to be more chapters in the blues lessons?

It's like having a piano teacher beside me. I finally finshed Chapter 15 of Blues and jazz and i want more.. Sometimes i spend hours at a time learing the lesson because it is so much fun and his methods of teaching are superb.. I can now take a piano solo without fear..

The one thing i hope you guys take into consideration is to upgrade the videos to be looked at from an Android Tablet or IPAD..

Quite a few diverse piano lessons within the package from playpianotoday. The blues and gospel lessons are very detailed& I think they will be a great help to anyone wanting to really dig in and further their music. The download option is especially useful and well thought out

Pretty impressed with the material, David is very enthusiastic, his tips and style suit me perfectly.

The course download onto my Mac using Safari went without a hitch. No problems with CGI files.

I learnt piano from a very young age and stopped mid teens - although it was good training
I always felt stifled by the traditional teaching and constrained by having to play the printed notes.

This course may just get me a bit closer to achieving my goal of being able to improvise fluently and, so far, has put the fun back into piano practise.

For the price it seems very reasonable with plenty to keep one busy for a while.

Bad points - none found so far.

P.S The chord voicings vault looks pretty cool.

I was a little cautious about purchasing having read some of these reviews, but I really think they are just technical issues for the individuals concerned.
The website is well laid out and explains the course well and I had a very good look through it and perused all the videos prior to purchasing. I was very pleased to see that the downloaded materials are all of the same quality, clear and easy to access. The format in an Adobe Flash Player screen is actually rather better than I'd expected. Video and production is excellent quality.
I'm only just into it but I can see its potential. The demo materials on the site seemed rather repetitive, but I feel the actual course is less so; the author effectively drives home important points. He has an easy and affable manner in the video which makes it easy to watch and digest.

I don't know about customer service issues yet, but on my experience to date I would be very happy to recommend this product. Seems to me very good value.

I have always been interested in playing my own songs. Went through th course many times for ideas and patterns. The one thing that I am working now is the ear training 101 program from this site. My hearing sucks! lol But seriously I was looking to learn just patterns to play songs by ear. the ear training program has really opened up my eyes (funny analogy) to new ways of playing. it's especially helpful for jazz and gospel i think.

I wish I was at ta higher level of playing, but playpiano today is getting me there I can see results (and people say they hear them yay). yes i'd recommend highly
